# Seagate Collaboration December 2018

IOPSTOR joined Seagate and Fortune's Nytro SSD event in December 2018 with a talk on software-defined storage, SSD endurance and real customer case studies.

- **Start date:** 2018-12-19

## At the event

In December 2018, Seagate and Fortune hosted an evening around Seagate's Nytro enterprise SSDs: SAS, SATA and data-centre NVMe drives. Prime ABGB opened the session, and IOPSTOR followed with a talk on how its software-defined storage puts drives like these to work, then took questions from the audience.

THE TALK

## What We Covered

- How flash memory types (SLC, MLC, TLC and QLC) differ inside an SSD.
- SSD endurance: what drive writes per day (DWPD) and terabytes written (TBW) mean over a drive's warranty.
- IOPSTOR's features: file and block sharing, SSD caching, snapshots, replication, de-duplication and high availability, on hardware of your choice.
- Customer case studies, from post-production studios to a distribution company's private cloud.
- The industries IOPSTOR serves, including media, education, healthcare, banking, logistics and government.
